We want to make your first visit to Saint Andrew a comfortable and welcoming experience.
What to Expect
When you enter the building, you will be met at the door by our greeters. Sometimes the entrance is full of people engaged in lively conversation, so our greeters may not see you. If that happens, feel free to introduce yourself and identify yourself as a visitor. A greeter will then help you make a name tag - if you'd like to wear one - and direct you to where you need to go.
As you enter the Sanctuary, you will see ushers who will give you the Sunday morning bulletin. Please take a seat wherever you are comfortable in the Sanctuary. Please fill out a visitor’s card found in the red attendance book and put it in the offering basket when it is passed. Don’t be surprised if you are approached before or after the service by a member who wants to shake your hand and welcome you!
Worship at Saint Andrew is both moving and meaningful. It appeals to the part of a person that likes National Public Radio but also enjoys a moving story. It holds the head and heart together. The sermon will likely consist of a thought-provoking and heartwarming story tailored to illustrate the meaning of the scripture in a way that allows us to relate it to our personal experiences.
We have a very talented music director, violinist, pianists, choir and band who provide music that ranges from traditional to contemporary but always enriches the services. You won’t see a pipe organ at Saint Andrew, but you might see just about any other instrument!
We celebrate communion every Sunday at each service. All who believe in Christ are invited to come forward to receive communion.
At the end of the service we all join hands for our going forth and benediction. We invite you to stay after worship for conversation and information. Please introduce yourself to one of the pastors.
Worship Times: We have three services on Sunday mornings — 8:15, 9:30 and 11:00. The services are basically the same and we sing the same songs. The 8:15 is the coziest service — about 120 people who watch the sun rise together. If you attend the 9:30, you may wonder where all the kids and teens are — most of them are in our spirited, engaging Sunday school. The choir sings during the 11:00 service.
Attire: Whether you choose to wear business casual attire or jeans and a t-shirt — or something in between — you will be welcome at Saint Andrew.
Parking: Visitor parking is available in the church parking lot.
Childcare: Childcare for infants and toddlers is provided in the east wing of the building. See a greeter for directions. For more information about the nursery, visit the Nursery page of this website.
Children: A children’s bulletin and worship bag with quiet activities can be found on the table at the back of the Sanctuary. Following the Children’s Blessing at the 11:00 am service, ages 3 through second grade are invited to Worship and Wonder. For information about Sunday school and youth groups, visit the Children and Youth pages of this website.
Muffins with the Minister: If you are new to Saint Andrew or wish to learn more about our denomination and congregation, our pastors regularly offer “Muffins with the Minister,” on Sundays at 9:30 am, in the
pastor’s office. Our next “Muffins” is April 7, with
Rev. Erika Marksbury and Denise Dugan, Minister to Children & Families. Please contact the church office to indicate your interest in attending.
